Pamela, on the other hand
Both Pamela Anderson and Demi Moore are actresses who were big stars in their youth, and their careers “were closely intertwined”; they stopped getting roles in prestigious Hollywood productions because of their looks and age, but this year they landed roles that allowed them to be on the lips of moviegoers again. But Demi was phenomenal in a very original and daring body horror and her role will be remembered as one of the best comebacks in film history. well, she’s good in that film and proves she can be a good dramatic actress, but she’s held back by the film itself, which is too formulaic, takes no risks and doesn’t delve into the psychology of the main character, let alone the completely unwritten supporting characters. There are some interesting plot threads, including: the characters clashing over which of their performances in various clubs is art and which is pornography, but these interesting moments are quickly cut short in favor of sentimental and nothing-but-burger scenes, such as Pamela dancing on the street in Las Vegas.
I also don’t understand why the beginning of the movie sometimes has such weird blurring of frames??
I didn’t like Jamie Lee Curtis, who acts as if she’s in a completely different film than the others. The plot is pretty predictable – we know how the conflicts between the characters will be resolved and some of the elements introduced at the beginning return at the end. I think it was supposed to be part of the artistic vision, but it’s done so clumsily and inconsistently that it looks more like an accident. But at least "The Last Showgirl" is only 1 hour and 25 minutes long, so it’s not a frustrating experience.
