Storage facilities in Quebec; Five people were sentenced to prison
Story
When maple syrup farmer Ruth Landry finds her livelihood under attack from greedy competitors who were once her friends, she devises a plan to get revenge and shake up the industry. This series starts off really well and then…kind of tanks.
I call this "Season 1" Didn’t know that
I believed it was a complete story in 6 parts. As such, it’s both inadequate – leaving you hanging – and stretched thin.
I realize I should soak this review with syrup jokes, but maple trees are always sad because they’re so satisfying
The casting and production design are great, but it’s like the original Twin Peaks: Once "Great Crimes" Solved, story over. As much as we enjoy spending time with these colorful characters, it’s painful to try to dress it up with extraneous subplots.
